Welcome to the 2015-2016 School Year
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 8th! Please visit our Back to School page for many start-of-school-year details.

"Our focus this summer, and in this coming year will continue to be on student learning. Our expectation in the Guilford Public Schools is that every child will be exposed to rigorous learning tasks every day in every class. We believe that instruction must be designed to invite effort on the part of our students, because we know that effort builds ability," Superintendent Paul Freeman states in his Welcome Back message.
Guilford's Got Talent 5 - Postponed
The annual talent show sponsored by Guilford Park & Recreation, Guilford Youth & Family Services and Guilford DAY will take place later this fall. Please look for a new date to be announced soon!
Guilford Social Services Provides Back to School Supplies
This program benefits Guilford students entering grades K-12 whose families are struggling. To donate, please drop off supplies to 263 Church Street by August 8th. Supplies needed include 3-ring binders filled with paper, composition notebooks, backpacks, and lunch boxes.

State of the Schools
Summer Hours for Administrative Offices
Guilford Schools administrative offices are open during the summer at 55 Park Street, 701 New England Road, and Pupil Services at Calvin Leete School, 280 South Union Street. Regular office hours are 8:00am to 3:30pm. Starting July 6th through August 14th, the Superintendent's Office at 55 Park Street and Pupil Services will change their hours to 7:30am to 3:00pm. Offices will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observance of the Fourth of July and on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day.
School buildings will be closed from August 10th - August 21st for general maintenance and cleaning.
Transition Planning for New Guilford High School
The existing school will be closing to the public effective Thursday, June 25th. High school staff who need to access the old building may do so by entering on the west side, parking in the west parking lot. Please note that no one under 18 will be allowed in the building, under any circumstances, as of June 29th.

Administrative offices will be open in the new high school during the summer for official school business. You will be able to reach high school personnel via email and phone. If you need to come to the new high school, beginning June 29th, please park in the west parking lot and follow the sidewalk to the school's main entrance located on the north side of the building. Note that new student registrations will take place at Superintendent's office at 55 Park Street from June 29th through August 28th.
Unified Dancers at Arthur Murray

Unified Dance Club at Guilford High School is an opportunity for students to come together to share their love of dance. Since January, the students have been meeting after school with GHS speech pathologist and club organizer, Linda Hirsch, along with parent volunteers and professional dance instructors in the community. Peter Konow, franchisee of Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Guilford donated his time to teach the students on May 29th along with his instructor Rebekah Copeland.
