The Hour of Code is Coming to Guilford Schools!

Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code" and show that anyone can learn the basics to be a maker, creator, and innovator. Students throughout Guilford Public Schools will be participating in this global movement from December 7th through the 13th.

By Kobi Yamada, Calvin Leete students were inspired to think outside of the box and use their imagination and creativity to see their ideas come to life in the school's second Cardboard Challenge
Guilford High School Takes First Place at Yale Physics Olympics

On Saturday, October 17th, the four members of Team Twin Paradox representing Guilford High School, came in first place in the 2015 Yale Physics Olympics. Team members Chris Barber, Corey Lynch, Sam Westguard, Sam Jelley and captain Sean Hackett competed in the all-day physics competition with students representing 48 other high schools across the state.
Guilford Lakes Named Elementary School of the Year!

The Connecticut Association of Schools has selected Guilford Lakes Elementary School as the 2015-2016 Elementary School of the Year.
Community Celebrates the Opening of the New High School

Over 300 members of the Guilford community joined the GHS Building Committee and members of Guilford Public Schools to celebrate the opening of the new Guilford High School on Saturday, September 26th.

Senator Ted Kennedy, Representative Sean Scanlon, and State Comptroller Kevin Lembo, were present with First Selectman Joe Mazza, Board of Education Chairman Bill Bloss, Superintendent of Schools Paul Freeman, GHS Principal Rick Misenti, GHS Building Chair Scott Pinckney and student representatives from each of the four classes of Guilford High School to participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday afternoon. Guilford Voices, under the direction of Kevin Buno, opened the day's festivities.
Guilford Schools Honors GHS Building Committee with Friend of Education Award

At Convocation on Tuesday, September 1st, Guilford Public Schools awarded its Friend of Education Award to the Guilford High School Building Committee in recognition of their outstanding service to the community for the oversight of all phases of the design and construction of the new Guilford High School.
