Public Forum to Consider Later High School Start Times and School Schedules - January 7th
The Guilford Board of Education will host a Public Forum to Consider Later High School Start Times and School Schedules on Wednesday, January 7th at 7pm in the Chorus Room at Adams Middle School. The Board and the Administration are in the early stages of exploring several school schedules that would move back the start time for Guilford High School to allow students more time to sleep, and they encourage input from parents and guardians.
Guilford Schools Are Styrofoam Free!

Guilford Public Schools no longer purchases Styrofoam products for any of our cafeterias in the district. The environmentally friendly change from using Styrofoam lunch trays to molded fiber trays made from 100% recycled paper fibers is due, in part, to the dedicated efforts of the students and parents of the Green Patrol, an environmental group at Guilford Lakes Elementary School.
GHS Seniors Receive Superintendent's Award

Guilford High School seniors Linnea J. Geary and Henry G. Robinson received the Superintendent’s Award for Guilford Public Schools at a luncheon in December sponsored by the Middlesex Shoreline Superintendents Association. Students from member districts are recognized for their outstanding academic achievement and overall contribution to their schools and communities. The students are pictured with Superintendent Paul Freeman.
Special Education PreSchool Information Session - December 17th
This informational session will be for parents only on Wednesday, December 17th from 3:45 to 4:15pm at Guilford Lakes School, 40 Maupus Road. This session is for parents interested in having their children participate as a typical peer in the Special Education PreSchool Program.
All Delays Due to Weather Will Be 2 Hours - No More 90 Minute Delays
Beginning this school year, all delayed openings due to adverse weather conditions will be 2 hour delays in Guilford Public Schools. We will no longer utilize a 90 minute delay schedule. This decision has been made to provide more time for potentially hazardous traveling conditions to clear in the morning, to allow more opportunity for our school and town crews to address streets and parking lots and to better align our schedule with neighboring school districts.
Safe Homes/Smart Parties - Take the Pledge

A Guilford DAY initiative, the Safe Homes / Smart Parties Program asks parents to follow three simple rules: 1) Not to serve, or allow alcohol or drugs to other people's children; 2) Not to, knowingly, allow parties in your home that are not appropriately supervised; and 3) Allow other parents to email you if they want to confirm parental knowledge of a party or if they have a question.
